Fourcolor is the alias of 31 year old Japanese artist Keiichi Sugimoto. He
began performing as Fourcolor in 1998 and has released on labels such as 12k
and Apestaartje. Four Color has performed with artists such as Mitchell
Akiyama, Christophe Charles, Waki, Ogurusu Norihide, World's End Girlfriend,
and Oren Ambarchi.
 
In 1999 Keiichi formed the group Minamo and in 2002 he formed Fonica. Both
groups are still active and garner large critical acclaim around the world.
They have released albums on 12k, Apestaartje and been featured in the
Bip_Hop Generation compilations.
 
And as if that isn¹t enough, Keiichi runs the label Cubic Music.
 
Fourcolor is the sound of water trickling over the rocks of a stream. Soft
guitar tones are combined with tiny crackles that captivate and delight.
 
Fourcolor will be joined by Melbourne artists Qua (Surgery records, Headz)
and Post (Preservation).
 
Cyclic Defrost said of Qua¹s most recent release, ŒPainting Monsters On
Clouds¹: ³Qua¹s developed a fine sensibility to his work, an understanding
of the way that melody, rhythm and texture can be used in creative ways to
illustrate a theme or feeling. TracksŠhave an amazingly visual quality to
them²
 
It will be James Wilkinson¹s first performance under his new Post project so
treat him nicely. James will be familiar to many of you as the trombone
player in High Pass Filter and Bucketrider, as well as setting the world on
fire with his group Snuff Puppets.
 
Symbiosis Listening Focus. Encouraging the audience to engage with the sound
textures and providing the environment to absorb some very special
performances.
