this edition of framework:afield has been produced in quarantine in 
poland by tomasz pizio, and features sounds recently recorded (following 
social distancing guidelines) and contributed to the aporee maps 
documenting the change in global soundscapes due to the onset of the 
coronavirus, Covid-19. for more of tomasz’ work see

"The following recordings have been captured and published on the Aporee 
Soundmaps within last weeks and are focused on the effects Coronavirus 
COVID-19 is currently having on the world.

"People confined to their homes, city parks with few visitors, empty 
train stations, markets, squares and city centers. The city soundscape 
has changed in most affected places dramatically. This is perhaps best 
described by one of the authors of today’s recordings, nula.cc, who 
wrote: “I recently went out of my apartment into the streets of an 
unknown city; one largely without people.”

"The gravity of the situation requires us to be more careful and care 
for those who need our help. We also need to appreciate the brave people 
who are on the front lines of the pandemic caring for those in need.

"Stay safe. Follow the guidelines. Wash your hands often. And care for 
each other.
