this edition of framework:ephemera, our occasional series of programs 
featuring interviews with and selections by invited guests, was recorded 
in the home and studio of field-recordist, film sound guy, and regular 
contributor martin clarke. we met martin during a trip to the uk back in 
the spring, spent a lovely afternoon with tea and caramel bars, and 
listened to a lot of great recordings. he picked some classics for us 
that have been on the show before, but a long, long time ago, like alan 
lamb's incredible telegraph wire recordings, chris watson's icelandic 
glacier time compressions, and jakob kirkegaard's sitting in the rooms 
of chernobyl.

you can find plenty of martin's past contributions, including several of
