#403: 2013.01.13
greetings, and welcome to the beginning of framework's 2013 program!
we've got lots planned for the coming year, which we'll let you know
about in the coming months, but just one new experiment to begin with:
we're trying out mixcloud as a new way to listen to the program, along
with our usual posts to our facebook page and of course on the framework
website. check our mixcloud page out here:
http://www.mixcloud.com/framework_radio
we're not too familiar with it ourselves, so if you have any feedback,
ideas, or recommendations, please let us know!
meanwhile, this edition of framework:afield has been produced in germany
d. l. lutz. a few words from the producer:
"What does the world sound like late in the evening of a summer’s day
when all the light has faded and life is already halfway obscured in
dreams? This earscape tries to provide one possible answer, with the
help of field recordings, compositions and improvisations.
What sound sources that you hear at night are recognizable? Is someone
practising the piano in the distance? Is some fugitive criminal being
chased somewhere out there? Do night-active animals stroll around your
tent or is it the hard-working beavers at the nearby river? What do the
few lonesome drivers on the dark highway think as they pass by? Why is
someone fixing himself a coffee at this time? What memories of daytime
adventures suddenly lighten up in the dark? Is it the wind or my soul
that I hear? Can I trust my senses anymore? And above all, there is the
deafening lullaby of the crickets...
D. L. Lutz, born 1969 in Germany, is a practising architect, writer and
sound artist living in Berlin since over twenty years. His interests lie
in science, ecology and all things related to music. He has produced a
series of soundscapes on various topics, sound for films and a couple of
symphonic readings."
again, we are always looking for new material, whether raw field
recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated framework:afield series. send proposals or material,
released or not, on any format, to the address at the bottom of this
mail. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
