[microsound-announce] Open Call: Composition / Soundscape for Paraphrasing Babel

The Viewmaster Foundation from Maastricht – Netherlands, together with Intro insitu; music in context in Maastricht, announces an Open Call for composers and(sound) artists to send in work, to be included in the large-scale video art andsound art exhibition Paraphasing Babel – Video Art and Soundscapes on Languagein Public Space. The exhibition will run in the evenings from October 19 toNovember 18 in public space in Maastricht and Heerlen, the two largest cities ofthe Southern Netherlands, close to the borders with Belgium and Germany.27 international video artists and 7 Sound artists will participate in theexhibition. Two sound artworks will be selected through this Open Call. Thedeadline is September 17th.If you are a European composer or sound artist and the theme language andcommunication inspires you to create a short audio piece, or if you already havea piece that complements or represents this theme, then you are invited to sendin your work.
