#392: 2012.10.14
many self-released works this week, one re-release, and one cd from the
always-impressive 23five label, who this time brings us the
very-appropriate-for-radio-broadcast work areal by richard garet,
constructed from radio frequency recordings. the re-release, on the net
label yugen art, is from jeph jerman’s project hands to, a cassette
which originally appeared on his own animist recordings label way back
in 1993, when framework was still just a glimmer in your presenter’s
eye. amongst the self-releases we find a study of public and private
from mystified, an exploration of the texture and tone of movement on
pebbles by dallas simpson, and a wide collection of untreated field
recordings by flavien gillié. all this started off by a framework
introduction recorded by regular contributor neil griffith.
meanwhile we have now embarked on a round-the-world tour, although, even
though we are technically going 360 degrees around the world, it only
actually involves two stops (taipei and boston), so you can decide for
yourselves how impressed you are. to make it more impressive you can add
the airport layovers into the total, and then it jumps from 2 to a
whopping 9! we’re here in taipei now for the playaround 2012 workshop
symposium (http://playaround.cc) and then we’ll be around the east coast
of the u.s. for around 3 weeks, with a series of gigs and appearances
about which you can learn more here: http://www.murmerings.com. if
you’re nearby come say hello!
again, we are always looking for new material, whether raw field
recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated framework:afield series. send proposals or material,
released or not, on any format, to the address at the bottom of this
mail. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
