*#369: 2012.04.01*
what to say? although we thought spring was springing, it's snowing
again here in tartu, and apparently it's going to keep doing so for the
best part of the week. it wasn't a /particularly /long winter this year,
but come april, i'm ready for it to be over. we considered an *april
fool*'s show, but we couldn't (in the approximately 45 seconds we
dedicated to the task) come up with a worthwhile topic that would be
both funny and listenable for a full 57 minutes. if you have an idea for
next year let us know. our favorites this year were *kfjc* (one of our
favorite radio stations) playing their annual 24 hours of horrible
out-of-date top 40's pop music (complete with old sears commercials) and
this, from right here in estonia:
<http://news.err.ee/politics/ccf981bd-9247-4c30-97cc-c49f7f8eb32b>
meanwhile we settled in with some heavy textural mixing, and waded our
way through a whole host of sounds that have been waiting, waiting,
waiting patiently in our to-play pile for a very long time. these are
all cd releases, although the split release between *terje paulsen* and
*ákos garai* is also available for download. next week we'll be back
with the 2nd in a two-part /*framework:afield*/ series looking at
notions of documentation of sound-art events, produced by *felicity
ford* and *valeria merlini*.
and we can now announce that we have finalized the tracklist for the
/*framework:seasonal ::: spring 2012*/ compilation! we'll begin playing
the exclusive tracks in our next regular edition, and we'll begin taking
preorders as of now! make a donation on the /*framework*/ website of €18
or more, and you'll get a copy of the new cd as soon as it's ready
(before the end of the month). meanwhile, if you missed the /*autumn
2011*/ edition, you can still order one of those as well - just make
your donation and drop us a note to say which edition you'd like.
again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw
field recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated /*framework:afield*/ series. send proposals or
material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. if you
have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
