you could probably find some youtubes of Stelarc's performances -- I had a 
friend who volunteered for a live performance with him -- he wired her up to a 
'driver' box that he had made, and by sending jolts of electricity through her 
muscles, had her 'dancing' -- afterwards she was in such pain for days that she 
could barely move!  When you send a current into the muscles, it causes a 100% 
strength contraction of the muscle (where normally you use less than 50% of the 
total muscle strength even with maximum exertion)...  It will actually 
internally shred the muscle tissues!
