*#325: 2011.04.17
*
greetings from tallinn, where we have just finished day one of *udo
noll*'s /*radio miniatures*/ workshop in the framework (ahem) of *tuned
city tallinn 2011*. for more information on what we're up to here have a
look at http://www.tunedcity.net/?page_id=954, or, if (shock, horror)
you are unfamiliar with udo's work with the great *aporee maps* project,
check it out here: http://aporee.org/maps.
meanwhile we're still making radio shows! this week we feature some
recordings from our recent visitor *ernst karel*, who was our guest for
the /*contours of sound*/ seminar that took place recently in tartu as
part of the *worldfilm festival for visual culture*
(http://worldfilm.ee/en). ernst has released a cd with our friends at
and/oar constructed from untreated recordings he made in the labs at
harvard university, where he works. we mixed these works with some more
narrative recordings from the other side of the united states, made
around oregon by *dan crall*. we also heard sounds (available on
soundcloud) recorded by spanish artist *baimudan*, and some
field-recording and instrumental compositions made by the italian
artists *matteo uggeri* and *andrea ferraris*. right in the midst of
this we also heard one collaborative composition, originally made for
the great *silenceradio* series (http://www.silenceradio.org), by
regular contributor *mark vernon* with *zoë irvine*.
again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw
field recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction
submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of
our guest curated /*framework:afield*/ series. send proposals or
material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. if you
have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
