_fissure.recordings has officially set sail.  The first releases are available now both physically and digitally!

pieces
performed live using mostly analog equipment, with the exception of a
digital sampler appear unedited, or amended.  Works of varying lengths
examining the interplay between simple frequencies, more complex tones
and the spaces between them.  Reissue of a limited 3"CDr from 2003
complete with 11+ minute bonus track.

fr_002   Tomas Phillips/Chantale Laplante  "chair bell floor"
the
first documented collaboration between Phillips (Line, Non Visual
Objects, and/oar) and Laplante (for4ears) is an investigation and
manipulation of deliberate, miniscule acoustic sounds.  They created
the sounds together at Laplante's studio in montreal and then went
their separate ways to take the sounds and form them into works
individual to each artist.

what is the format of the releases
you ask?  well, they're digital download cards packaged in recycled
jackets featuring artwork and liner notes, then sealed in a recycled paper envelope
and sent to you.  The download includes .aiff and mp3 files as well as
a digital booklet.  This is done to provide a physical artifact for
those who like artwork/info in a manner that has the least negative
ecological impact.  If you prefer digital files only, then please
download them from Itunes, Emusic, Amazon, etc.
