Call for Submissions
Guidelines

The Longy School of Music is pleased to announce the Wired for Sound 
2009 electroacoustic music festival. The festival, which is also part of 
the 2009 Boston Cyberarts Festival, will take place April 26-27, 2009 at 
the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA. Composers of any age or 
background are invited to submit up to 2 works for inclusion in the 
festival. No submission fee is required. Visit

Works will be considered in the following categories:

Fixed media
* 2 – 8 channel audio pieces. Works must be submitted on a CD or a DVD 
containing multi-channel files. Multi-channel submissions must also 
include a stereo mix for review purposes.
* Video works. Video pieces must be submitted on a DVD.

Live electroacoustic
* Works for fixed media and solo instrument or ensemble up to 8 players. 
If the composer cannot provide a performer, performers will be selected 
from Longy’s students and faculty. Submissions must include a score (if 
appropriate) and a recording.
* Works for interactive or live electronics. Submissions must include a 
score (if appropriate), a recording (live or realized), and a brief 
description of the electronics set-up (software, hardware, # of mics, etc.)

Young Performers
This is a special category in which musicians from Longy’s
preparatory division will perform the selected pieces on a dedicated
concert. The students in Longy’s preparatory division range in age from

Selected composers are encouraged, but not required to attend the 
festival. Longy is
unable to provide grants for travel or lodging.
