[Microsound-announce] Sept 14 - Vague Terrain and the music gallery presents Marc "Akufen" Leclair & Pauline Oliveros

After a lengthy hiatus Vague Terrain is back with another collaboration with 
the Music Gallery. For this event we are very excited to present a lineup which 
will blur the distinction between 20th century classical and minimalism in 
techno.

5mm feat. Marc Leclair aka Akufen + video artist Gabriel Coutu-Dumont (CAN)
Ambient set by Canadas techno-glitch innovator, with live video on three 
screens 11:30pm

Des Cailloux et du Carbone (CAN) Up-and-coming Montreal experimental laptop 
artist / live video by Patricia Rodriguez & Noir 10:30pm

Pauline Oliveros & Anne Bourne perform One Long Peace (US/CAN) Improvisations 
by the American drone music pioneer on accordion, in collaboration with Toronto 
cellist/vocalist 9pm

CONTACT Contemporary Music performs "Electronica Unplugged" (CAN)
Acoustic chamber versions of classic electronica by Aphex Twin, Eno and more / 
live video by Patricia Rodriguez & Noir 8pm

This event is part of the Music Gallery's X Avant new music festival.

Doors 7pm, concert 8pm

Venue: The Music Gallery 197 John St. (South entrance to Grange Park)

Tickets:
* $15 advance/$20 door ($15 member/$10 student, door only)
* Advance tickets on sale online via Ticketweb or in person at Penguin Music (2 
McCaul St.), Rotate This (620 Queen W.) and Soundscapes (572 College St.) in 
Toronto.

We recommend purchasing tickets in advance to ensure entry. The Music Gallery 
hosts events in St George-the-Martyr Anglican Church, an unconventional 
performance space with incredible acoustics and and limited seating.

* Concert hosted by Laurie Brown, host of CBC Radio 2's The Signal.
* CBC Radio 2 will be recording these concerts for future broadcast on The 
Signal, heard 7 days a week from 10pm to 1am.
