SINOPSE / SYNOPSIS

Pushing the Medium #2 é um simpósio com a duração de 10 dias, a realizar em
Nodar, uma pequena comunidade rural situada no norte de Portugal, que
apresenta o desafio a vários criadores nacionais e internacionais de
desenvolver projectos Œsite-specific¹. O evento proporciona ainda debates,
workshops, instalações e performances. O foco desta iniciativa será o lugar
ele mesmo: Nodar. Esta segunda edição do simpósio é um convite para
aproximar a 
prática e a reflexão artística contemporânea ao espaço rural,
contribuindo para a valorização do espaço comunitário de Nodar e
entendendo o desenvolvimento cultural em zonas rurais como questão
fundamental e emergente. ///

Pushing the Medium #2 is a ten day symposium located in Nodar, a small rural
community in the north of Portugal, presenting a unique challenge to
international and national artists to develop site-specific projects. It
will feature discussions, workshops and presentations focusing on the
context and location of Nodar itself. This second edition of the symposium
is an invitation to bring the contemporary artistic practice and reflection
closer to the rural space, contributing to the valorization of the
communitary space of Nodar and understanding the cultural development of
rural areas as a fundamental and emerging issue.
