Andrew MacGregor spielt gemeinsam mit Christina Carta (Charalambides),
Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) und anderen im Freak Folk-Outfit The Bark Haze.
Als Gown reduziert er seine Gitarrenexperimente auf zartes Flüstern und
eindringliche Pickings. Einflüsse aus der weiten Welt des Folk, der
Americana und der Bluegrass-Musik sind unüberhörbar und dennoch klingt die
Musik abenteuerlich wild und urban. Für alle, die sich für die Sonic
Youth-Nebenexperimente interessieren ist dies ein Pflichttermin!

gown is from the islands of british columbia canada, and spent an entire
year living on one such island alone, apart from his dog and three or more
goats. coming across like dredd foole fronting my cat is an alien, this is
sparse, haunted music, jandek-ish guitars trickle away into space and
macgregor's deep voice resonates unsettlingly, all is not well but it's
compeling stuff nonetheless. the lp was recorded over the course of a month
in florence, mass, following a two month tour across the usa, playing in a
duo with christina carter. limited pressing on ecstatic peace (Thurston
Moores Label)
