: FEBRUARY UPGRADE! :

Le 8 Février, joignez vous au Upgrade à la croisée de la musique et de la
technologie avec Andrew Brouse et Georges Dimitrov à travers une exploration
visuelle, auditive, conceptuelle et biologique du son. Lors de cet
événement, Brouse présentera Invocation, performance dans laquelle il
utilise ses propres ondes cérébrales comme principal outil de contrôle sur
les processus de synthèse de l¹ordinateur afin de générer de la musique.
Gouttes d¹eau, composition récente de Dimitrov, écrit pour piano, harpe et
violoncelle, combine acoustique et électronique par intégration de
technologies numériques. Après les deux présentations le Upgrade a le
plaisir d¹accueillir Dr. Cornelius Borck de l¹Université McGill et Caroline
Traube de l¹Université de Montréal qui retrouveront les deux artistes pour
une table ronde. L¹événement gratuit débute promptement à 19h, et est suivi
de l¹ouverture du bar accompagnée de la musique électronique pour meubles du
conservateur et dj tobias c. van Veen.

On February 8th, come join the Upgrade Montreal at the crossroads of music
and technology asAndrew Brouse and Georges Dimitrov explore visual, audio,
conceptual and biological modes of sound. For this event Brouse will perform
Invocation in which he uses his own brainwaves as theprimary means of
control over computer synthesis operations to generate a process-based
music. Gouttes d¹eau, a recent composition by Dimitrov, written for piano,
harp and cello, combines theacoustic with the electronic through an
integration of numeric technology. Following the two presentations the
Upgrade is pleased to welcome Dr. Cornelius Borck from McGill University and
Dr.Caroline Traube from the University of Montreal who will join the two
artists for a round table discussion. The free event begins promptly at 7pm,
followed by an open bar after the presentationswith electronic furniture
music from Upgrade director and dj tobias c. van Veen.
