2TOMS PROCESS 16.00 - 16.20 GMT
2TOMS aka Thomas Behuret & Thomas Fontin are a French A/V partnership
par excellence. They have worked together for over two years in various
multimedia exhibitions and will be performing together remotely from
their homes in Paris & Lyon.
Thomas Behuret is a Paris based photographer working for musical
magazines such as Vibrations & R&R.
He's artistic work is centres on the city and the influence of urban
architecture on the people who live there. His starting point is 'The
human in the city' and deals with notions of absorption, anonymity and
standardisation of lifestyle that is reflected in city living. He has
shown his work in exhibitions in France & Canada the most recent being
a multimedia
photographic installation "Eautopsie" for the event "Eaux arts el
ectroniques " and "Extension d'un vide" in collaboration with Thomas
Fontin for the exhibition "Desert", both organized by Champ Libre, in
Montreal.

Thomas Fontins' introduction to electronic music goes back to the free
party movement of the late nineties while he was studying musicology at
Paris University. After finishing his MA he decided to specialise in
sound and video game design and is currently working as a sound
designer for Eden Games, a video game development studio based in Lyon.
He explains his compositional process as simple and pragmatic starting
with the manipulation of concrete audio and textures. "Chaos,
improvisation and chance always hold a central place in my compositions
leading to a process that is both humorous & experimental. My principal
inspirations are multiple but I remain easily influenced by the city
and urban deserts, which are like a mirror of our present society".
John Kannenberg 16.30 - 17.15 GMT
John Kannenberg creates quietly reflective works in both image and
sound that blur the boundaries between intention and accident.
Incorporating techniques derived from free improvisation, musical
composition, field drawing, minimalism, cubism and abstract
expressionism in their construction, his works deal with a variety of
themes including primal natural forces, spirituality and mindful
contemplation, melancholy and nostalgia, abstracted narratives, and the
confluence of sonic and visual art.
John's work has been presented in the United States, Europe and
Australia, including appearances at the John Cage Musicircus at the
Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the so.cal.sonic festival in Long
Beach, ISEA 2004 in Tallinn, the Biennale of Electronic Arts in Perth,
the Version Festival in Chicago, the Placard Festival in New York, the
MAXIS festival in Sheffield, and several broadcast appearances on
Resonance 104.4 FM London. He has released recordings on Crouton,
Topscore, Grain of Sound, Retinascan, Earlabs and Cohort, and has been
a co-presenter of the Something Else radio program on WLUW 88.7 FM
Chicago.
Since April 2002, John has served as the creator, designer and curator
of Stasisfield.com, an experimental music label and interdisciplinary
digital art space presenting works by a diverse collection of artists
from around the globe.

General Mixing 17.15 - 18.00
The Studio will re-open again for general mixing from 17.15 and
participating artists will be available online to discuss their work.
We would also encourage people to upload and mix their own sound and
visual files as we end the session in an open net jam.
Furthernoise.org is hosting a series of monthly live A/V net events and
is interested to hear from all audio and visual artists who feel that
they could create interesting A/V performances in Visitors Studio.
