1. GLOBE UNITY ORCHESTRA & THE CHOIR OF THE NDR

Obra clásica dentro del campo de la improvisación libre en Europa, con una edición remasterizada por primera vez en formato digital y publicada por el sello Atavistic. Se trata de una grabación realizada por la NDR holandesa en Hamburgo allá por el año 1974, partiendo de un proyecto que pretendía unir voces clásicas con improvisación minimal y aullidos de free jazz, a partir de una pieza compuesta en los años 60 por Manfred Schoof y que éste ejecutó en varias ocasiones junto al pianista Alexander Von Slippenbach, que retoma esta obra para orquesta y coro y escribe una partitura para su Globe Unity Orchestra, compuesta por una sección de saxo en la que toman parte Peter Brötzmann, Evan Parker, Rüdiger Carl, Gerd Dudek, y Michel Pilz, Peter Kowald al bajo y a la tuba, una sección de metales que incluye a Kenny Wheeler, Günter Christmann, el mismo Manfred Schoof y Paul Rutherford, el propio Schlippenbach al piano, Derek Bailey a la guitarra como invitado especial, y dos percusionistas,
 Han Bennink y Paul Lovens

 

Classic European improvised work, digitally remastered and released by Atavistic. Recording for the Dutch station NDR made in Hamburg in 1974, departing from a project that pretended to join classical chorus with minimal improvisation and howling free jazz, beginning from a piece composed in the 60s by Manfred Schoof which was performed in several occasions by himself with pianist Alexander Von Slippenbach, who reshapes it for his Globe Unity Orchestra, featuring a sax section with Peter Brötzmann, Evan Parker, Rüdiger Carl, Gerd Dudek and Michel Pilz, Peter Kowald on bajo and tuba, a brass section including Kenny Wheeler, Günter Christmann, Manfred Schoof himself and Paul Rutherford, Schlippenbach on piano, Derek Bailey on guitarra as special guest, and two percusionists, Han Bennink and Paul Lovens

Earth es el proyecto creado por Dylan Carlson a principios de los 90 junto a varios colaboradores, cuya obra fundamental fue probablemente el disco "Earth 2", (1993). Los sonidos de Earth han sido remezclados recientemente para un álbum titulado "Legacy Of Dissolution", editado por los sellos No Quarter y Southern Lord, al que contribuyen artistas de la talla de Russell Haswell, Jim O'Rourke, Autechre, Justin Broadrick, SunnO))) y Mogwai, que remezclan la pieza "Teeth Of Lions Rule The Divine", originalmente el segundo corte de "Earth 2"

 

Earth is the project created by Dylan Carlson with several collaborators at the beginning of the 90s, whose fundamental work was probably the album "Earth 2" (1993). The sounds of Earth have been recently reworked for a remix album entitled "Legacy Of Dissolution", published by the Non Quarter and Southern Lord labels, with the contributions of Russell Haswell, Jim O'Rourke, Autechre, Justin Broadrick, SunnO))) and Mogwai, who remix the piece "Teeth Of Lions Rule The Divine" (originally the second track in "Earth 2")

 

03. ZEITKRATZER PLAYS COLUMN ONE

Zeitkratzer es una formación absolutamente abierta fundada por Reinhold Friedl en Berlin y compuesta por 11 miembros más o menos fijos de variada formación y diferentes disciplinas, junto a cerca de un centenar de colaboradores desde su primera aparición en 1997, entre los que se cuentan Carsten Nicolai, Keith Rowe, Phil Niblock, Lee Ranaldo e incluso Lou Reed, entre muchos otros. En este nuevo trabajo, titulado "ElectroniX", Zeitkratzer interpreta composiciones de Bernhard Guenter, Terre Thaemlitz, Manfred Klauss, Dror Feiler/Zeitkratzer y Column One

 

Zeitkratzer is an broad open formation founded by Reinhold Friedl in Berlin and compound by 11 more or less resident members with a diverse training and different disciplines, together with nearly a hundred of collaborators from their first appearance in 1997, among them Carsten Nicolai, Keith Rowe, Phil Niblock, Lee Ranaldo and Lou Reed. In this new work, entitled "ElectroniX", Zeitkratzer interprets compositions by Bernhard Guenter, Terre Thaemlitz, Manfred Klauss, Dror Feiler/Zeitkratzer and Column One


04. JULIEN NETO

Una de las 16 piezas que componen el cuarto volúmen de la serie recopilatoria Cottage Industries, compuesta por Julien Neto. Un artista de nuevo cuño del que no conocemos muchos detalles, salvo su procedencia parisina y su inclinación por los paisajes ambientales de origen electroacústico. Julien Neto publicará próximamente su debut en Type Records

 

One of the 16 pieces integrating the fourth volume of the Cottage Industries series, composed by Julien Neto, from who we don't know many details, except his Parisian origin and his preference for electroaoustic sourced environmental landscapes. Net Julien will soon release his debut in Type Records

05. PRAVEEN

Otro de los artistas que colaboran en la última recopilación del sello Neo Ouija es Praveen Sharma, músico electrónico y dj de la radio norteamericana, con su programa "Percussion Lab". Su álbum de debut ha sido recientemente editado con la misma etiqueta, con el título "Backed By Spirits", con una duración cercana a los 40 minutos, repletos de atmósferas oscuras y otras variaciones electrónicas más o menos percusivas

 

Another artist collaborating in Neo Ouija's last compilation is Praveen Sharma, an electronic musican and radio dj in NYC with his "Percussion Lab" set. His debut album has been recently published on the same label, with the title "Backed By Spirits", with nearly 40 minutes length, replete of dark atmospheres and more or less precussive electronic variations

 

06. SEVEN ARK

Desde el sello Neo Ouija cerramos la sesión de esta semana en Onda Sonora, en esta ocasión con Justin de Nobrega, Seven Ark, músico electrónico de origen sudafricano y vocación innovadora que continúa la senda abierta por la artista, también sudafricana, Mira Calix, pionera de la música electrónica en aquel pais y con quien Seven Ark ha tenido ocasión de compartir escenario en alguna ocasión

This time with Justin de Nobrega, Seven Ark, an electronic musician from Cape Town, South Africa, with an innovationg approach to music, following the path opened by South African electronic music pioneer Mira Calix, with whom Seven Ark has shared stage
